About Me

Howdy, I am Bryan Stanton; Educator and Owner of TeachinTheatre, LLC. I was born in Whittier, CA and graduated from La Serna High School in 2002. In 2011 I received a Bachelor of Music, in Voice Performance from San Diego State University. I hold a Master's in Legal Studies with a focus on Constitutional Law. I am currently in pursuit of my Master's in Theatre Pedagogy from University of Idaho. I spent the past 15 years working professionally as an actor, music director, director, and stage manager. In 2007, I began my teaching career as a private voice instructor in San Diego, Ca. Upon moving to San Antonio I obtained my Teaching Credential in Theater and Social Studies. I have extensive experience working in Entertainment for The Walt Disney Company, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, Knott's Berry Farm, The Merlin Company, and several regional theatres.

I am currently the Aaron Davis Hall Production Manager and Technical Director for City College New York. In the past, I served on the Board of Directors for Woodlawn Theatre in San Antonio, TX and Texas Thespians.

I have been married to my husband, Kevin for just over 15 years and we have 4 children, Juan, Kelvin, Audrey, and Chloe.

On campus I have served on the Character Education Committee helping to produce the advisory program, Beyond the Bubble. I questioned how we might incorporate the teaching of human interaction in our daily lessons as teachers. In my own classroom I've focused on teaching students to empathize with their characters thus learning empathy for others in the real world. In 2020, I was awarded Teacher of the Year for Alamo Heights High School and Alamo Heights Independent School District.
